W126 87 560sel transmission leak help

I have a 87 560sel w126 with the 5.7l I think. The first pic is the leak. It's leaks over my exhaust and has quiet a smoke show. When it is in drive it leaks worse. Can you tell me what seal I need and how to replace it.
The second pic is the timing chain guide. It's orange and there is no wear on it. The chain looks new to tell me your thoughts.

If in doubt, replace the chains, guides & tensionsers. You may get away with not replacing them but when any one of those components break, you can count on severe engine damage.

regarding the timing chain-

to check for chain stretch, pull both valve covers and with a 24mm socket and ratchet, turn motor and look for line up marks on cam towers. the left cam might line up and pass before the right. this is not critical, unless it is quite a bit. when the mark on the right cam is on, look at the crank pulley. all 3 marks should be close to 0. if the crank is 0 to 5 degrees past, don't worry about it. 6 degrees or more, the chain should be replaced.

only way to be sure. I can't see under your hood, the light here sucks. good luck, chuck.

The first picture looks like the secondary pump but the B2 piston and kickdown switch are also in the area. Clean and dry the area to isolate the source of the leak. If it's the secondary pump, confirm whether it's leaking between the case of the secondary pump and intermediate plate (outer diameter). It's more complicated if it's leaking from the cut-off piston (inner diameter).

x2 on checking chain elongation rather than visual inspection of guides. x2 also on focusing on the starboard cam.

Thank you for the tips. I am going to check the timing soon just didn't have time last night. I really like this car but can wait to get my 300td running. This car has become my toy. :-) weekend date driver and when other cars break down.

Sixto thanks for the help as always. Everyone Sixto is the kindness person ever. (OK done kissing butt) :-)

The transmission leak is on the passenger side rear of the transmission. There's another round thing next to it (toward the front of the car) and nothing behind this pump (rear of car) . It's up a couple inches from the pan. It's leaking from the center. There's a clip (two prong pliers) if you zoom in on the pic you can see it flowing out.
Sixto I have a spare transmission from my om603. Are those the Sam or at least the pump. My spare transmission is bone dry in that location. I'm gonna post a pic.

I sea foamed and fixed a few vacuum leaks. I think the rubber that connects the fuel plenum and throttle body may be leaking. At idle (warm) the idle seems high. (oil pressure at three) in drive rpm lower normal and purs like a kitten. (oil at 2) the tach doesn't work (only thing in this car that doesn't work everything else works great)
Any input on that would be great.

The secondary pumps should be the same across 722.3s but I don't know that for sure. Either way, you need an o-ring and possibly some teflon seals. In case you're feeling adventurous, there's a spring on the other side of the cut-off piston. Be ready for it.

Should I just swap pump? Can you help me find the seal for it?
Just send a text if you would rather do that?

Looks like 3 bolts and an easy swap.

You'll need at least an o-ring for a pump swap. Here are the parts I see in the EPC:

016 997 32 48 pump main o-ring
016 997 37 48 cut-off piston cover o-ring
126 277 08 55 cut-off piston big teflon seal
126 277 20 55 cut-off piston small teflon seal

NOTE - these part numbers are based on a difficult to read EPC screen.

I think you can get away with just 016 997 37 48; pop the cover and replace the seal. Let's see if I can find instructions so you know what to expect...

After reading page 50 of - http://www.w124performance.com/docs/mb/transmission/trans_722_repair.pdf - maybe you're right to install a tight secondary pump rather than address the leaking seal The inner o-ring is inboard of the the cut-off piston so a spring and the piston have to come out. Easy enough but installing the piston requires compressing the teflon seals as you would piston rings. More steps in uncharted territory opens the door to mistakes
