Avoid or buy these Euro headlights Ebay?

Should I worry about fit or finish? Check out this Ebay link below:

They don't say a brand like Depot, etc..

It says ABS plastic, then it says glass too. I take it they mean the lens is glass?

Should I avoid these? Or are they okay since I'm on a budget and I don't care if they say Bosch for originality?

I have a 1983 300SD

Cheap plastic crap. Prob looks good in a box, prob doesn't install well, prob fades in sunlight quickly. I'll take a used Bosch unit anyday - then again, I don't skimp.

Look good to me. Bought ebay "depot" type lights for three Fords, all were great. Will be purchasing these W126 lights when outdoor working conditions improve.

If they have a DRL (Mercedes city light) I will wire it to a automatic relay that goes on when the alternator charges.

ask the seller the brand, If they are DEPO, I would buy them, and I have. Have DEPO on 3 of my cars. The only euros I've had that I wasn't very happy with were tyc, the plastic in them faded to yellow.

Look for a CAPA cert then trace it here CAPA Home

I've used TYC parts on a few non MB cars before and the fit is good. For some cars they have 3 levels of quality, I used mid grade head lights / turn signals on a 00 ranger I'm putting together. The headlights look fine but I expect the bulbs not to last, turn signals have minor edge contour issues. For a working truck it is just fine.

Keep in mind you will have a mounting issue with Euro headlights on a U.S. car. Specifically the bracket on the underside will not line up on the passenger side. While it has not been an apparent issue, my passenger headlight is not as secure as it should be. I have a quick I idea to fix it, just have not tried it yet. Mine are Depo brand units, I like them a lot - especially with HIDs.

I have genuine Bosch lights in mine and the difference in quality between them and the Depo lights is pretty significant. That being said lots of folks run the Depo lights with no issues.

I ran into this same problem. The solution is to drill a hole a new hole in the bracket so that it mounts to the car correctly.

That's what I ended up doing. I attached the bracket to the car, put the headlight in, marked where the headlight mount hole was on the bracket and drilled in a nice big slot. Worked well.

If not Bosch/Hella then Depo/TYC.

I have TYC in the one 300SD, Depo in the 420SEL, 300D and 190E. Very pleased with them.

I did catch a rock in the 300D on the highway and it cracked my passenger lens right on the edge. Its mostly covered up by the grill.

I do have a pair of oem euros I plan on putting on it eventually. One is Bosch, the other Hella.

The Depo/TYC's are glass. Not sure about the ones OP linked.

Here are the Depo versions:
Depo 81 91 Mercedes Benz W126 Euro Glass 4D Headlights Corner Lights Pair Wiring | eBay

I would buy the Depo's over the unknown $140 ones.

If the plastic lenses on the TYCs are anything like those on our Corolla, they can be waxed to look very nice.

The lenses aren't plastic they are glass. I'm talking about the grey plastic the reflector sits in.

I have depo's bi xenon in my 190E. Installation was plug and play. Great to have HID. They look good too with the clear corner lenses and glass HL.

I've had DEPOs on the 124 for a 1.5 years now, still work perfectly. They even have the vacuum level control motors which I use for high beams. Who needs bi-hids?
