bought nice 1974 450SL but its got issues. relay location anyone?

ran fine when purchased. has been driven every once in a blue moon for 20 years, to keep engine free. on non op. i drove it and after pouring in lucas additive in the tank it just stalled. must have loosened dirt in fuel system, so I took tank out and cleaned it. full of rust as they usually are of course. then put fresh gas (91 octane) and new filter, and some seafoam. it started a little bit so to speak but didn't quite run. I changed plugs and wires. no difference. I changed coil. no difference. cap and rotor looked good and were unavailable at parts store. points didn't look burned.
I hooked up fuel pumps directly to see if fuel came out the return and it sure does. but I don't know if they come on when cranking engine.

is there a relay somewhere?? hidden?? does it have the bosch k-jetronic and if so, where? does it have an ignition module somewhere? what else can it be, I'm about to get new ballast resistor that sits before the coil. I'm kinda stuck without my volt meter..

I'm used to diesels, they don't break so often like gas cars. (no electrical crap everywhere to make them run) in fact, if after 3 days of working on this thing I can't get it running today I will install 603 turbo into it. a real engine, so to speak...

all help appreciated!
