May be water pump or idler pulley? Tough to diagnose noises like this remotely. Could also be the alternator. What can help is a long screwdriver to hold against various problem spots and put your ear up to the handle and see if you get louder or softer noises as you try different areas. They do also sell stethoscopes for this purpose, but I am pretty cheap and use a long screwdriver, LOL

I have a mechanics setescope.Sounds real loud at power steering pump. The problem is I drove to a hospital ( no sound) and parked.Got back in the car and started then noise.

sinner, if the fan is loose and wobbles it would seem the fan bearing bracket is shot. You can buy a rebuilt fan bearing bracket from a MB dealer. Trade in the old one to avoid paying the "core charge".

OK guys how do you find a bad hyd. lifter? My valve cover is off.
whats the way to remove the cam? I was in hopes it was a tappet kind. The damn cam moves the lifter I guess

My valve cover on the inside paint was coming off.Its on my cam bearing hold down clamps.I suspect chips clogged one lifter.I see light score marks on the drivers side cam.
