Exhaust clamp - creative approach
R107 (1986 560SL)
Looking for a creative approach to suspending the end exhaust. Seems the exhaust system is intact, but slightly miss aligned. When I use teh rubber hangers at the very end, they break. Currently I'm using hose clamps, but am expecting they will break. Do you have a suggestion for holding the end of the exhaust, under the bumper, to replace the hose clamps (3 inch clamp one side, 4 inch clamp the other side) Thanks for your suggestions.

SS screw clamps will work, I've used them on various cars to mount hangers.
Some factory rubber hangers have a small roller chain embedded in the rubber to prevent failure. |

tivoliman, probably best to realign the exhaust system so the standard rubber donuts function as designed. Aftermarket donuts are likely not as durable as those from a MB dealer. It seems that either your car was involved in a slight accident, or a tech performed a sloppy installation of replacement parts. The same size donut should fit on both sides of the exhaust system at a given location.
