GOOD LORD!!! what the heck is a "slide actuator"
well, just got the call from the service manager. He says the tech pulled the code for a bad "slide actuator". They say this is what is causing the stalling and hiccuping at light acceleration and cruising speeds. Is this the same thing as a Throttle actuator?? This is always one of the things that confuses me so much. The techs seem to have thier own lingo for parts that don't neccesarily match MB's part nomenclature. ANyhow, the thing is going to cost $1750 installed!! Geez!!!!!! Give me back my ol CIS-E system. at least I could fix that!! So is this thing something I could have replaced myself, as it is we're leaving on a long trip and I couldn't have fixed it in time anyway.
Thanks Evan |

Sounds like way too much to me. I think that they are speaking of the throttle actuator.

If you need to aquire about a throttle actuator from a Mercedes dealer just ask for a "slide" and they will know what you are talking about.

Unless you are driving a S600 that is way too much!!
Even for a W124 E320 with a list of $1,200. & 3 hrs labor that is high!!
