'86 MB 300E roof granish strips
Howdy All--
I'm new here. I just decided to dive in and join the group. If this is the umpteenth time someone's brought up this specific topic please direct me to the former discussions-- I can't find any reference to them if they exist. The plastic jam clips/retainers that hold the roof garnish strips in place on my MB 300E have failed and now no longer hold the strips in place. They pop loose given even slight vibration. The trim strips run from the base of the A pillars flanking the windshield along the length of the roof and end at the leading edge of the rear window. Looks like they hide weldments of the structural panels of the 300E's body. The clips are made of two parts that ratchet together and jam inside the channels which are hidden by the trim strips. There look to be six pairs on each side of the roof channel. Are these mysterious clips available? Part #s and where to find? MB dealer? Any help greatly appreciated. Regards, Robert |

Robert, the Parts Department at any MB dealer should be able to provide the clips you need. Likely they won't be in stock, but available in a day or two.

Thanks for the help-- I'll give my local MB dealer a call.
