Considering Buying 1987 420SEL

I sold my 1988 BMW 325 a few days ago. Decided on looking at the Merc. I found a 1987 420SEL with 81K original miles with original owner. She bought the car in Beverly Hills and had all the maintenance records up through 72K done at the beverly hills MBZ dealership. Her new brother in-law did the maintenance from a non MBZ dealership to date. The car is immaculate. No and I mean no fluid leaks. The only flaws or a couple minor door dents on the drivers side. I have negotiated a price of $8K. What do you think? I know about the timing chain failures on this model. Although it has not been done yet, I know it should be. If anything at least checked. What does everyone think?

Price seems about right given the mileage and location. Spring for a PPI (pre purchase inspection) at a dealer or independent MB Tech not associated with this vehicle, preferably someone you trust. The PPI may give you some ammo for further negotiation.
