Is there a good solution to making W126 seat belts a bit longer?
???

Sit ups, push ups, jogging, and calorie counting. Avoid any types of highly processed foods. Get a juicer and replace a meal per day with it. Avoid meat from animals that have been given growth hormones.

I'd probably check with a dealership.

Exercise more and/or eat less.

Slide the seat back and lower.
Lower the shoulder height adjustment on the "B" pillar. Extend the buckle connection. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/l...t/DSCN1099.jpg |

If you put one in the buckle though, just be sure to actually use the seat belt itself. The buckle has a sensor that lets the supplemental restraint system (SRS) know when the seat belt is in use or not. In a minor front end collision, below a certain threshold but above nothing happening, the SRS will activate only the seat belt detonator (retractor) and not the airbag - unless the seat belt is not in use, in which case the airbag will detonate. So for that middle ground impact with only the extender installed, you get nothing except a face full of windshield. For a serious impact, the system goes straight to seat belt retractor AND airbag. |
