starving for fuel
'97 C-280 c.e. light came on -- if car was not warmed up for 5-10 minutes -- between 20 & 50 mph it would stall and sputter - once in overdrive and maintaining rpm ran great . would not act up again until motor cooled down . if car was warmed up for 5-10 -- ran great . made appt. at dealer --- never made it . car will crank - run long enough to burn the shot of fuel from the pump -- die . HAVE CHANGED FILTER
relay ? fuel regulator ? fuel throttle switch ? low voltage to injectors ? PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN ANY SUGGESTIONS / IDEAS GREATLY APPRECIATED |
First you need to se if you are losing fuel or injector pulse or maybe even fire. There is only one thing that comes to mind on a no start c-280 and that is overvoltage relay and Mass air flow meter. DONT change these parts until you find out what you dont have. Best bet would probably bringing it to shop if you dont know how to check for these signals. :D

I am pretty sure the OVP was not a problem in 97 M104s.

Funny just checked my records and yes we replaced one last month. They do go bad and they will cause intermittent problems
