Another sunroof thread...parts availability W215
 

So I'm working on my friend's CL55 sunroof.

Unfortunately, her problem won't be fixed by new cable covers. ;)

I got it all apart yesterday and all of the teflon covers for the guide feet are cracked and falling apart. An MB video I watched said that they are replaceable, but I don't see them in the EPC.

Also, I accidentally broke one of the yellow plastic clips that secures the guide to the lift section...and again, I don't see the parts in the EPC.

Any ideas for availability on these items (other than a wrecking yard, and I really don't want more old, cooked plastic anyway)? I really don't want to drop $100 a side for some teflon covers and a plastic clip.

I don't know the car but does this help?

Thanks, but unfortunately not; that's just the Russian EPC site, so it's the same thing I've already reviewed.

This is really driving me nuts. It really makes no sense. It's like making someone buy a new wheel because the tire is worn. :(

Thought it might be - looks like you're discovering inbuilt obsolescence - out of interest which part item (number) is it? Or which part is it next to?

Know, contact the Parts Department at your local MB dealer and inquire about the parts you need. If they cost more than you want to spend, try a local salvage yard; however, salvage Teflon covers will likely be deteriorated too.
