Found a stored part I cannot identify

I have tried numerous sources but I cannot find the purpose or utilization of the following part. I found this part among the many various parts I had stored previously, but had not properly labeled. Any and all assistance will be appreciated.

A sticker on it has the name bruse and the number 681-60228 followed by the MB Symbol then the name Mercedes Benz.

There is a black and a white wire (coming from it/going to it?) on end cap and it appears as though a mechanical "shaft" my attach at the center of that same end cap. It is cylindrical in shape with an aluminum center and each end cap is a dark brown heavy plastic.

Someone has applied a whiteout on it with the letters MBZ which leads me to believe that this is a used part yet I have no recollection of purchasing this item.

Sorry, that is all I know. I have no clue what it is, what it does or what chassis of Benz it is for.

Thanks,
Dave H...

have to suspect Brose. I cant make anythi of the part number, but it could be a door lock actuator, window regulator or something similar

Brose - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brose is a Scots word for an uncooked form of porridge: oatmeal (and/or other meals) is mixed with boiling water and allowed to stand for a short time. It is eaten with salt and butter, milk or buttermilk.

There for, the device must be British as electrical heating devices don't work in damp climates!
