1984 280 E twin cam six
 

I need to picture or diagram to show how to connect the spark plug wires from the distributor back to the plugs. I disconnected them sometime back and thought I had a diagram but can't seem to find it.

Can you find #1 on the cap? Then follow the firing order on the cam cover, going clockwise around the cap.

I can't find #1 but #6 is still attached and that should work just as well.

I'm not sure if all after market rotors arms have a notch on them (it should be in the middle) but this should line up with a notch on the casing (of the distributor) for Cylinder #1 - if you set the crank to TDC (the TDC after the exhaust valves close) then you should be good to go...

...well good to start to go and then check the timing with a timing light.

Whilst you are setting the crank to the correct TDC note which way the rotor arm turns so you will then know which lead is after #1 => the firing order is 1 5 3 6 2 4
