You might consider getting your oil tested after using the MB oil & then the Hyundai oil. Check out BobIsTheOilGuy.com. Do a search on the BITOG website for oil test & it will give all the info. Costs like $25 or $35. Anything other than a test of how your car reacts to either is only conjecture. Hyundai makes some good cars & their engineers aren't going to screw them with bad synthetic oil, but do the test to prove it. My 2 cents.

There is no need to change the oil prematurely. Change it according to the manufacturer's schedule, but not longer. Additives in the oil are made to last a certain duration (hours of use) which is approximated by experimentation in the lab.

The result of this is that you may be really cheating yourself on the oil you buy.

Never overuse oil, but changing oil too often is wasteful.

Case in point: I bought a military diesel truck at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton. They shipped it to Michigan. Before departure theu changed ALL the fluids everywhere. Then they set off on the trip.

I go to the yard to pick up the vehicle. Delays. Why? " We couldn't find any paperwork on maintenance so we changed every fluid in the vehicle."

I found the paperwork later under the seat!

Complete fluid change after 500 miles, lol!

When the military is involved anything can happen. I was stationed in Germany in the mid 60's in a supply depot. A new jeep came in without a log book. Brand new, only started in final test at the factory I guess. Sense it had no log book, it didn't exist. It was sent to the crusher and disposed of. The fluids in that jeep only had a few minuets and probably no miles on them. The military in all their glorious wisdom sent the fluids down the drain with the rest of the jeep. All because a log book that only had a serial number in it, was MIA.
