My blower motor in my 260e is making allot of noise. I know it needs to be replaced. Lately the fan only turns on when car is cold in morning. After I restart the car later the fan will not turn on again that day. Why would this happen. Also how difficult is it to change this motor. If I bring it to a German repair shop what is a fair rate of how many hours to replace.

If you have waited too long, you may have nuked the blower regulator. The regulator assy. is big money. Have it checked though, for it is located below the blower motor assy. The job should pay a rough 2.5 to 3.0 hrs with the diagnosis.
