I just bought an E430. I understand that the
new cars have computers which can be programmed for maps, etc. Does anyone know what the connections are to a Laptop or other
machine and what software is required to do
this??

I wouldn't mind taking the 130MPH limit off
as I am replacing the all-season junk rubber
with ZR rated performance tires.

I would like to speak with who told you about this, for they know far more about the cars than I.

I've heard this from two people... a Mercedes Salesman mentioned that the new models have electronics packages that no longer have an Eprom which is swapped, but that they use newer memory devices which can be reprogrammed with removable from the on-board computer. A friend in Germany who lives in Stuttgart also mentioned the same thing.... it's the newer Bosch gear.

Regards, KM
