74 230/4 Power steering pump belt tension, what gives?
 

I am trying to adjust the tension on the power steering pump belt. Could they have made it any harder to get to? As far as I can tell, you have to loosen all 4 bolts, two of which are about impossible to get to.

Am I missing something here, any tricks to this? I already wasted over two hours on this and so far have not been successful. Perhaps that belt is only meant to be adjusted with the engine pulled?

Any hints welcomed.

ps. Still waiting for my manual to arrive, but from what I have heard about Chiltons, doesn't sound like it will be much help. Where can I get a useful manual?
