W124 Spring Perch Repairs
Thought you guys might like this.
My buddy's sister's 300E had a problem with its spring perches. We used 1/8" thick steel for all the patching and repairs. Once the new perches were welded in black chassis paint, seam sealer and another coat of chassis paint was applied. A can of internal frame coating was sprayed into the cavity to help seal it up and prevent future problems. Mercedes only wanted $160 for each new spring perch. The car will also need new struts and springs. These have 215K on them. The struts are completely dead. 0 recoil. Photos! W124 300E (1993) Spring Perch Repair - Imgur
