You can not interchange ASR and non ASR throttle actuators

Last one I purchased had ASR light always on. Found fuse on OVP blown. Replaced that and all was well. Also try cleaning all fuse contacts. Has the wiring harness been replaced?

Arthur dalton been helping me through pm ..sorry I havent replied fuses are good ..as for the harness I did find a set of 3 wires deteriorating near brake fluid resovoir they run right next to the positive battery cable under the wiper arm and go down under engine and also go to a plug just screwed in to the dividing wall near the brake resovoir.....so I proceeded to open some looms at the water pump, coil packs, and throttle actuator to check but the look all new even the connectors look new almost no dirt.., im thinking it was replaced, hoping I dodged a bullet....but still need to find out what these wires do. As for ASR I got code 9 on pin 14 witch refers to the sensor on the rear axle, so I checked fuses and tire pressure, and tire size as per daltons directions but light still on so it might be sensor is dirty or needs replacing or the wires I found deteriorated have a factor..not sure yet but in this nj below 0 weather at moment im working slow...ill keep you posted with a fix...if I find 1 ty.

I had ASR light intermittently on just after I bought my car from MB. Whenever I heard a deep pulsing noise, the light would come on after several seconds.

MB said they repeatedly bled the hydraulic system and all has been well for the last 16 years. A new OVP relay may also be a good idea if it's old.

Just a thought or two.
