What would make used synthetic oil appear milky and discoloured at oil Change?

Possibly a bad head gasket, mixing coolant and oil. Check your coolant overflow tank for oil too.

If the car sits a lot it may be condensation.

This site seems pretty user friendly to me. Your first question was kind of an oddball and it's possible no one has seen that particular issue before.

As for milky oil, it has water in it. Where did the water come from? Several possibilities as outlined above.

I've not been on this website as long as the majority of the members, so I certainly can't speak for all, but it didn't take long for me to observe that a lot of newbies post a question on this forum, several thoughtful answers are usually produced by a number of the really knowledgeable members of this forum and then........ Agreed - and to help you out anyways, head gasket failure.

I have to ask you a question. What does F40 mean or have to do with Mercedes? And why is it a "subject" of a question?

Thank you for your quick response. I just changed the oil and flushed the coolant on Tuesday, that was when I noticed the milky look in the old oil. I have been noticing a slight miss in cylinder #6 and although not a lot of steam or water from the tail pipe. My means are very limited at the moment and over two grand to replace the head gasket just isn`t there. Do you have experience with a product called Real Steel? This an RWD base car with the 2.6 gas engine 164,000 miles. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
