On my 1988 190e the sunroof pops up perfect and closes perfect from poping up but when I go to slide it open all the way it will open fine but when it is sliding shut it slows down when it is about halfway shut. Sometimes it will stop and then slowly start to move again then it will finally shut . What is wrong? Something I can check or repair myself? Thanks in advance.

It sounds as if the clutch needs to be adjusted slightly tighter. I would have someone who has done this before do this. If you adjust it incorrectly, you will ruin the cable.

THERE MUST BE TOO MUCH "DRAG" WHERE THE SUNROOF MOVES IN IT'S GUIDES, OR THE CLUTCH IS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. OPEN THE ROOF & LOOK AT THE CHANNELS THAT THE ROOF MOVES IN. CLEAN & LUBE THE CHANNELS, IF THAT DOESN'T HELP HAVE THE CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT CHECKED.
