Torque converter drain plug???
My 2002 CLK55AMG has 38,000 mi on it so figured it was due for a trans fluid change. I drained the pan and the fluid looked a little dark so I pulled the rubber dust cover caps and turned the eng crank pulley with a 1 1/16 socket rotated the eng twice and I can not find a drain plug on the torque converter? It has a 722.6 trans like my 96 SL500 but the plug is missing ,Did they do away with it in 2002?

There were a few years during that time when they did not have a drain plug on torque converter. Probably did not see the need since they were running that "lifetime" fluid.

Funny Color
The fluid that came out was not your normal red fluid. I would say it was a yellowish greenish color,weird stuff not very dirty pan looked good,clean,no ugly stuff on magnet ............I will drain it again in a couple of weeks to get the rest out. Putting in the new Mercedes fluid for the 722.9

that yellowed fluid was originally red tinted when new, its the fabled MB 236.10 ATF aka shell 3403M115 ATF.
its normal for it to discolor after use.

hello
I think the torque converter plug was discontinued around 2002. So how do you drain a torque converter for a 722.610 |

Ok, I understand what that will drain the radiator and converter I will replace the bushing
