1982 500SEC Grey Market Car OVP Location

Hello all, I am trying to find the over voltage protection relay in my car, Some have said its between the two fire walls under hood but i dont see it. Does anyone know where an alternate location might be? this car is a little tough to buy parts for because it dont come up in most parts store look ups..I thank you all for any help...:)

On a US 84 500SEL (generation 1) the OVP is only used for the fuel computer and Idle speed controller. I don't believe euro cars would have either of these control units so it may not have a OVP relay. My 84 US car has it in the fuse box.

The "euro" models have OVP relay only if it have an ABS system. :)

Thanks for your help..The fuse on top is good, does that mean relay is good? The one in my fuse box is the old number beginning with 126..might be time to change it out for newer one

The pins on these get poor electrical connections over time as do electrical connectors around the car. I have solved a lot of problems by removing relays or disconnecting electrical connectors, cleaning the pins with electrical parts cleaner (sold at automotive stores), then plugging back in/reconnecting.

Any reason not to use anti-oxidant grease on the fuse box plug ins?
