Interior Rear view mirror loose
How does this mirror attach and where do I tighten it so that it doesn't jiggle? Really? I'm not the type to ask how to do something unless I'm convinced I'll break something

Ok, let me try asking a different question:
Does my rear view mirror in my '95 W124 wagon mount/dismount exactly like the W123 mirror? |
The mirror attaches to the car just like your W123 - with the spring and bullet ends.
The problem you may be facing is the swivel ball in the plastic case of the mirror being loose which in turn causes jiggle. There is no way to repair that short of undoing the plastic case which destroys the mirror. You can choose to install an auto dim mirror at this time, some member here on peachparts makes them for W124 I think. |

Resolved! Simple as 'jerking' the mirror from its base then tightening the three Philips head screws. And yes, the mirror does indeed 'pull' off and 'push/pop' back on. I wasn't able to contort myself enough to get into a comfortable position to remount it so I had my son get in on the other side and he was able to do most of the pushing. (My recent rotator cuff surgery wasn't liking my exertion too well!) Thanks for the tips!

Whenever I reinstall the mirror, I add a touch of lubricant (lubriplate) to the spring loaded balls. Makes installing much easier.
