EURO HEADLIGHT QUESTION W124

Can I switch the yellow fog reflectors from my USA headlamps to my euro headlamps? I like the yellow look. Do I still use the US lamp bulbs or the euro lamp bulbs? Car is a 86 300E.Im converting to euros but the euros don't have the yellow. I like the yellow that my US lamps have.Thanks.

The US lights look completely different. I highly doubt you could use them on euros. Once you actually use the euros, the light for the headlights, and fog lights is very good. rivaling or bettering most modern vehicles. I now drive a CDI with xenon lights, and do find the high breams are better, but honestly liked the low beam illumination on my 124 with euros. They are unbelievably good. Unlike modern lights that are plastic and slowly oxidize and gradually lose their visability, the euros stay nice and clear, since they are glass. Of course stone chips suck....

I believe the yellow is just a case over the bulb. You might be able to remove it and put it on your w124. Before I upgrade my w201 lights I removed the yellow cover because I didn't like it

There is a yellow lens that mounts to the reflector via a bracket. This way any bulb produces the yellow fog light effect.

When switching over to the Euro lights see if you can retrofit the yellow lens mount. I think there are tabs behind the original US reflector you can unbend to release.

At least, that's how I recall how folks have done it. Been meaning to do it on mine but just lazy. I popped in yellow bulbs in the mean time
