Euro 500 SE engine
 

I just bought an 86 Euro 500 Se with an 89 Euro500 engine installed. It looks like both the block an heads are aluminum dose this engine have liners or are the cylinder wall etched? What type oil would be best synthetic or regular? its hard to find much info on this car , any other input would be much appreciated.......

That is almost the same engine as the USA 560SEL's. Most info that applies to the 560 should apply to the 500 as well, except for a few engine parts.
The US had the 500SEL in 1984 & 85. However the fuel system & ignition system on those engines were different.
