1994 500SL stumbles on acceleration,,,pulled codes and,,,

Port 4 1 blink
port 8 1 blink
port 17 1 blink
port 19 NO Blinks

Took the car for a test drive, seems to stumble/cough until roughly 2000 RPM then behaves fine.
Upon WOT coughs/stumbles, then Varoom

Car has ASR
Upper harness replaced

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

1 blink means all is OK NFF.

My concern is the diagnostic module with no blinks.

The car was off-site, and I didn't know if it is ASR or not, it is, so I pulled the code from port 7 of the X11 (38 pin round test port) and it blinked 14 times (Closed throttle position contact switch) so I cleared it and went for a test drive. To my amazement (and delight) the car performed flawlessly driving up and down the street.

The only thing changed, was another battery was put in the car, as the old one didn't hold a charge.

So my belief (at this time) is that a weak battery made the car run like crapola.

Going to do some more testing tomorrow.

EHA?

If you also smell gas, check the EHA valve. Both the stumbling and smell are the classic symptoms of a leaking EHA. I just did a reply post regarding this issue. Give it a read.
