Stranding issue on '83 380sel V-8.

She starts, idles, drives...for 5-10 mins. then sputters to a stop. I Patiently wait 5-10 mins. and she starts again and runs a while then sputters to a stop...repeat to get home. Answers?...CPS?

No answers?...I don't think it's the CPS...the needle moves on idle. However I noticed at idle the needle moves up and down with the idle going back and forth from low idle to high idlle. Could it be the fuel filter? Fuel regulator? Seems to be worse going uphill.

You are correct about the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS); there is none.

Which needle?

Try driving with the fuel cap removed; there may be a tank vent blockage.
