need help finding temp sensor

1 Attachment(s)
for the life of me I can't find a temp sensor for the fan clutch. I can't find the part number on the Mercedes epc either. Everything I can find online for the fan clutch temperature sensor are single prongs for the aux fan. I can't find the 2 prong anywhere. anyone know a part number, actual name, or where to find one?

So far I've only found 1 on ebay but it's from Australia. I don't want to wait a month for it to show up.

Here's the part I'm looking for: It came from the front of the engine on top with the square connector going to it.

And the application is?

Yes. Been writting it all day and forgot on this thread

1984 190e 2.3l

Does the harness connector have thin pins that insert into sockets in the temp sensor?
If so, look for that sensor as an '86 2.3 DOHC part from r--ka--o, or perhaps from the site sponsor.

Is your car in fact a DOHC, aka Cosworth?

This is the temp. sensor (5* C) for the start valve's shut-off. It is used on the 102.961 engines only.
P/n is A 006 545 11 24.

I was going to suggest going to the dealer. Don't buy cheap sensors. They are not worth it. A good source is Pelican Parts (see top of page)

that is a thermal time switch. the sensor for the fan clutch is a single pole and is mounted on the water pump. there are probably two single pole sensors on a 190e 2.3

Well im confused because the online manual pointed to this being the fan switch.

If the fan switch is on the side of the water pump then where's the aux fan switch?

Ok. So the sensor on the side of the water pump is for the aux fan. It goes to the #1 fuse which is labeled aux fan among ither things.

The sensor i'm asking about, the plug for it goes to the # 10 fuse which is for the electro magnetic fan clutch among other things.

I finally had a chance to check them with a meter for continuity. The plug for the switch i'm asking about gas continuity all the way to where the actual fan clutch plugs in.

So now i'm back to my original question. Where the heck do I find one other then australia?

Does your car have A/C or automatic climate control? If so, the three terminal switch would be required.

If you need to, the three terminal switch can be used, although you might note that you have already been directed to a source for the two terminal switch. That source has three selections to chose from, including Bosch.
