450SL oil pressure gauge line
Over the weekend I brilliantly broke off the oil pressure gauge line at the fitting that connects to the engine's head. Has anyone done a repair by pushing the nipple back into the hose line? At $125 for a new line set it would be great if it could be repaired!

I made the repair myself. With the oil line in place I was able to grip the line with a clamp used for flaring tubing. I was then able to use a pair of channel locks to push the hose barb fitting into the oil line tube. One jaw was on the clamp bar and the other on the flare fitting. It is tight but with a garage temp of 60F I did not use any heat on the tube.
