The central locking on my 1987 300SL spuriously locks and unlocks itself both when driving and parked. By swapping over the wires that connect the doors and boot switches at the pump located in the boot I have traced this to the drivers side door switch and/or circuitry. The switch has been replaced and the problem has persisted. As I don't have the wiring diagram I do not know where to go next. The problem seems worse when the weathers wet.

It sounds as if you have a wire touching another somewhere within this system. You need to get your hands on the wirring diagram though to troubleshoot it.
