1963 Mercedes Benz 220S Vacuum Modulator
 

Hello... my 220S shifts quite hard, and someone said that it is probably the vacuum modulator on the tranny. I have no idea what that is, or where, and can't find any diagrams that would show it, or where to get one. Can anyone help?? Thanks

There will be a vacuum line running from the intake manifold to the transmission. There may also be a cable that runs from the throttle linkage to the trans as well.

You will pretty much have to poke around. Also post your question in the vintage section.

I'm pretty sure that there's no vacuum mod for that year of transmission...
