Positive to coil positive terminal and negative to coil negative terminal.
Are you referring to large ballast resistors (ceramic blocks)? If so then ignore them. They are there to reduce voltage in the ignition circuit. I didn't think they still used them after '74 but I've been wrong before.

There you go. Follow the recommended wiring set-up. It's been a long time since I've used one but those instructions are correct. Positive lead of the dwell/tach to the NEGATIVE (I was wrong before) terminal of the coil and the other lead to the engine block/negative battery terminal.
Ignore the switch box wiring if you are using a standard dwell meter. Just for curiosity's sake, why are you connecting a dwell meter? For RPM?

check condition of points then if have to replace can chk dwell angle after setting point gap since Mercedes factory manuals say nothing with pointgap ill try business card then take fr there then use rpms to adjust carb after timing set using a mac et805 dwell tach and volt meter 2 leads also heard theres a little box below coil in back of resisters with a post for bosch meters some say takes best readings w/ dwell tach I don't know haven't tried yet very tricky with engineering changes thanks for yr help any more info ill post
