Hi, I drive a 1999 Mercedes Benz E200 4dr saloon. For cleaning purposes I need to remove and reinstall the rere window shelf. Any advice appreciated.

I have not taken the rear shelf out but have taken the roof liner out. Some of the steps will be similar.

Remove the rear seat base, there are either 2 small wire latch levers or 10mm headed bolts on the front lower edge of the seat. Lift the seat base up and forward.

At the base of the seat back, there will be 2 or 3 10 mm headed bolts. Once these are out pick the seat up to detach it.

The rear window pillar trim was removed to get the roof liner out but I don't know if you will need to do so. The rear shelf might slide out from under the pillar trim. Getting the pillar trim off was somewhat complicated and I don't remember how it came off.
