I decided to just suck it up and have the strictly Mercedes shop fix it. Per the STAR diagnostic tool, they replaced both the wheel seals from the front left and right side of the car, the same ones the previous mechanic replaced. No more error code.

I think the secret sauce was how the seals are replaced, Im thinking you need to make a jig to squeeze them in with a screw jack rather than banging them in and there must be some clearance issues too.

replace the bearing set with factory brand. dont forget to change the races and then adjust the seal to spin 1/4 inch from the sensor. I have seen aftermarket bearing races bigger than stock and pushes the hub away from sensor and may not read correctly
