Thumbs up M103 water pump - what brand?

What is the preferred brand for these guys? Graf or Laso?

I have a slow leak on one that I need to tend to here before the summer sets in...which is fast approaching.

Thanks!

I bot a Graf for one of my w124's last time I needed one. As I recall it was manufactured in Italy. That was about 10M miles ago.

I looked at Laso, but had trouble finding where they manufactured their pumps. In the past they have been good, but as we've all learned, manufacturers seem to source parts from many places and put their name on it.

pump

Just replaced my pump for Meyle , but it may be unknown in your neck of the woods. Made in Germany ,it comes with all seals and thermostat top . Just want to say, that a lot of leaks are from the O ring on the side it fits to the engine. I put sealer on my pump even though it as this O ring as well. But if you use a little sealer ,on fitting it to the engine dont remove it once its in place . If you do the O ring will come out of its grove . Replace tensioner as well and check your pullys . The bracket that holds the belt tensioner as a bolt going in to the timing case to secure it,this as to have a little sealant on also or you will have oil leaking from it .Not many know this .Thats if your engine is the m103 ..may be the same with m104 not sure,. First thing is use a camera to picture step by step as you go on .So you know how to replace all the parts .

Hit Man X, recommend buying a reconditioned water pump at your local MB dealer. Take your old water pump to the dealer, or you will pay a core charge. Best to slightly loosen the bolts on the water pump pulley before removing the drive belt.

My vendor has offered Meyle parts for years. Meyle reps use to visit my shop every year. They ARE made in China.

Paul i dont think so .But weather china germany or usa .In the end the only people you will be able to get anything of use from will be China in the end. A lot of parts in Mercedes are made there now as a cost saving exersise . Soon mercedes will be fitting a french engine to motor cars made by them.
