fan clutch

To find out the direction look at the fan rotation .If its going anticlockwise then open it in the other direction If it was to be removed in the same way as it rotates it will fall off.

This is not true. The fan on my w201 rotates ccw and to get it off you also need to turn it ccw.

Just lock the clutch in place and break the center hex bolt. It rests in the center of the bi-metallic strip. And yes, there are four, 10mm botls, those actually hold the fan blade to the clutch. I am selling a fan clutch complete with the metal blades for $75 shipped. It's the larger one on the right. I have the center bolt for it as well.

PM me if interested.
