I have a '92 500SEL and I would like to know if the alternator can handle the draw of a pair of 135/165 watt light bulbs? Also, are all H-4 bulbs the same? I see a dramatic difference in pricing between vendors.

Thank You

Fred, you want to blind everybody? Stick with 80-100w bulbs, the wiring won't handle much more than that; if fact I've replaced several Combination(turn sig) switches on this model car w/std. bulbs. Don't worry about alternator output, 100w divided 13v=about 8amps. of current flow. Stock bulbs use about 5amps.

Be careful when changing bulbs. I have seen the connectors melt in half!!
