1991 560SEL Brake Line replacement help!
OK, I have a line wrench on the nut that holds the metal brake line then I have another line wrench on the nut holdinng the rubber brake hose to the metal brake line.
I am turning the line wrench on the nut on the rubber side.......only the rubber line itself is twisting. Should I loosen the nut on the metal brake line and will that allow the rubber brake hose to disconnect? |

UPDATE!!
Figured it out; loosen the nut holding the steel brake line with a line wrench while holding the nut on the rubber brake hose stationary with another line wrench. Once I had it loosened, I tried placing a golf tea into the metal brake line to stop fluid leak....no joy. So, I attached a new rubber brake line and used a hose clamp on it to stop the brake fluid from leaking.
Next, I removed the caliper bolts and removed the brake caliper. I then used a C-clamp to push back the calipers, they moved easily with no leakage. |
