That blanket statement is incorrect.

the 95 diesels have replaceable ball joints - I replaced them on my car, the 93 300E 2.8 have replaceable joints (done them too) the only cars having non replaceable joints are the

E320
E420
E500

or any car bought/built with sportline package.

the picture in the first post is quite blurry - I cannot see any ears on the arm boss denoting its an arm in which the joints can be swapped out.
