1987 420 sel O button on climate control

I have a 1987 420 sel with 220 k. When the O on the climate control is pressed,the blower motor remains on low.High speed will not work and the air recirculation button does not work.(this I believe is normal)Everything else works normally. Any ideas what the problem can be?
