Update on 1999 e55 amg

Guys and gals,

So I just got my 1999 e55 out of the shop after replacing the oil cooler and both timing case covers..oil change....etc etc...600 in parts and 500 labor....now I'm getting oil level above max error and oil level below min error...yuck....

I had the computer reset after throwing misfire error codes....

Ideas please...

Lyle

Take your E55AMG to a MB dealer with trained techs who know what they are doing, and can reset the computer codes.

If you can confirm the correct oil level then it's a pretty sure bet that the level sensor is bad. Every once in a blue moon the fault may be caused by a rubbed wire in the harness nearby or possibly rodent damage to the wiring but most often the sensor simply fails.
