New to me 2004 e500 wagon
Got a few questions about the new to me 2004 e500 4matic wagon with airmatic. The mechanical inspection showed a bad right rear shock, and a problem with the seat, as well as 2 engine codes, but a no malfunction light on the dash display. Codes were p0102 and p0171.
The P0171 seems to have been cleared by an italian tune up. I tried cleaning the MAF to clear the p0102, but it keeps coming back. Seems like a new MAF is required. But I'll check with a hairdryer and voltage meter before buying one. Previous owner put in a K&N filter. I intend to get a paper non oiled type of one in there soon as the K&N filters do not work well with our dusty environment. So, anyways, back to the question that I intended to ask. What are some good tools to get for repair of this car. I've been looking at getting a STAR c4 or c5 clone. I"m asking more about the physical tools. The screwdrivers and wrenches. What types of tools are required for most jobs? The driver's seat has a clicking sound when reclining or coming upright on the reclining back. Are there kits one can buy to fix that? |
