Ground Strap on a 280SEL ?
Hi Benzers,
I'm back in a Mercedes as of this week. A 1981 280SEL Euro version (grey market) . Has electric windows in front and cranks in rear. Cloth on door panels....and it's old so also has some issues to address. My first one is I want to check the GROUND STRAP condition. I assume it's under the massive air filter box on the drivers side but if anyone has input or pic I appreciate it. Thanks,....Austin

The main engine ground strap usually runs from the transmission to the chassis of the car. It's a braided wire that will be bolted between the 2 pieces. Crawl under the car and look, you'll find it.
