Missing M103 intake info in the 124 service CD?
 

I'm ready to install my intake and exhaust manifolds, so I go to the sevice CD and pull up the category. Hmmnn, starts out with the M104 engine. Same with exhaust. Am I looking in the wrong place or is the info not there?

Check under engine, then combustion manual.

Job# for intake is 14-1310, for exhaust 14-3915.

I love you, Paul, mean it. I was looking in the LH injection section(silly me) 14 0010 and 14 0020. I don't know why I have so much trouble navigating this dang CD. Don't go anywhere, we ain't through yet!! ;)

Nose around the CD some. When you get to the top of the first "page" of a section it tells you the steps that have to be done prior to doing whatever section you are in is describing. It refers to the number of the proceeding step and those numbers are the section of the CD you have to go to to find that operation.

Call me a dinosaur, but I still prefer the old print manuals. By the time you boot up, load the cd, get through the intros(yes they are PLURAL), I've forgotten what I came there for!!:rolleyes: I can put up with greasy fingerprints on the page corners!!. You should see my Chilton's manual that covers my 65 Falcon!!:D

For the life of me I can't figure out why any sane person would prefer repair manuals on CD as opposed to the old hardcopy version of service manuals. Maybe its just the way the Mercedes set up the info on their application but as far as I'm concerned the CD repair manuals are an absolute joke. I've actually ended up buying a couple of the hardcopy manuals that I already have on CD because I so dislike using the CD application.

I think its a classic case of somebody thinking that having a computer involved in any process automatically makes it better than an old process that did not involve a computer. It certainly is easier to store/update and distribute service information electronically but it sure as heck is easier to use a hardcopy manual.

Ever try to follow a circut diagram in the ETM contained on the CD? Good luck.

I just noticed something, in section 14-1310, the illustration for the intake manifold assembly shows the manifold gasket upside down the fuel injector cutouts should be at the top.:eek:
