2006 e 320 Fuel Problems??

Took over my Dad's car here after His Passing. Great car @70K Just someone screwed him at Dealer somewhere and still has the Original Fuel Filter up front and just before i could swap it out now as i got in Yesterday i heard a Whining sound from underneath the Driver's Side. I drove it to the Off Brand Mercedes Garage and the Guy said the "Fuel Pump" was on it's way out? He said No Worries just finish my errands i had to do and drive it to him next week and let him give me a estimate there "Tuff Pumps" sure..so the Damn thing Quit Half way back Home from Sams Club? so my question to all that might have any Experience With these .. was it the Injection Pump going out? or was it your Typical Bad Fuel Pump? forgot to Mention the Gurgling Sound under the Driver side when he said Fuel Pump ??

any help would be appreciated!

Fix the glow plug, clear the check engine lite and you should be good to go.

How do you know the filter is original and are there two filters on this car? The dealer would put on a MB filter so it would look the same as the original one.

Do you have a receipt showing that specific filter was changed?

To all that Have Posted here Trying to Help me Remedy Dads old CDI.. I have been Out of Town for weeks and just Got back.

The whole thing came down to this guys. the Filter was OEM. Still had the Original Clamps in Place. I cut the Old ones off then used Fuel Injection Hose clamps to install New Filter. after i Primed the Filter 3 Turns with Key and Started the car and warmed it up i thought we were all set? NOT. so went for test drive great under first load up to 80Mph until i backed out then tried to bring back up to speed went into Limp mode.. crawled back to driveway... hummmm slept on it..and said i wonder if that computer sensed some "Air" Passing through the Rail somehow? so i called a old friend and he said very well could be. Pull both cables off the battery and Hold them Together for a Complete Purge and you should be good to go. worked well. Had my power back and up to speed! went to auto shop and pulled codes. just as i suspected Low Fuel Rail Pressure! Nothing Like a Little Air Passing through or a Burp when you don't need it. getting to my Glow plug replacement asap thanks

How does holding battery cables together purge air in the fuel system?

That is an attempt to drain the capacitors in order to clear a computer code. This doesn't always work because many computers use non volatile memory, the only way to clear is a scanner.
