Hi,

I'm looking for the part no. of the screw of M104 engine cover that attach the cover to the valve cover. I mistakenly ordered the screw that attached the valve cover to the engine block. Anyone has idea?

Uploaded the pic, not sure if u can see it

Thanks!

they are prone to stripping real easy. Most use a helicoil.I don't use my cover as coils run cooler.

What is your engine number? 104.9XX

If 104.980 then screw is 104 159 02 71 (replaces 104 159 01 71).

When I changed mine on a newer M104, I bought stainless bolts and washers at an industrial supply store.

Hi, Yes, it is 104.980. Thanks! I bought something similar and fit but it got rusty quick.

herrickmky, contact the Parts Department at your local MB dealer for the part number. In case you are unaware, a MB Parts Department can furnish you almost any part for vintage MB vehicles. If your local MB dealer is unable to get a particular part, then try the MB Classic Center in California.
