Since I've never set the valves on one of these engines, I cursious to know how the ball adjusters work ?

How does the ball adjuster loosen and lock down after setting the valve clearance ?

Thanks for the youtube link. Im working on one of these myself and will be checking valve adjustment in the future. Right now I’m pondering a bigger issue.... the Head has impact damage from one of the pistons... pretty sure a head shop can smooth it out. Next step will be gutting the pistons for inspection and replacing the damaged one.
