M104.980, blocking off unused oil passage under cylinder head
3 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I notice there is an oil passage hole that isn't being used by the cylinder head. I'm wondering if anyone else here has noticed this as well and have proceeded to block off this hole with a screw? http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...1&d=1525196875 http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...1&d=1525196796 Any opposition from the community on sealing this with an M8 screw and red Loctite? The question is why introduce oil to the head gasket here when all it will potentially do is cause leaks in the future? Looking down the hole, it looks like there is some valve or splash shield that leads oil to the chain tensioner. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...1&d=1525196828 |
The small line embedded into the copper feeds oil onto the timing chain, I'd leave it be.

Upon closer inspection it does seem that the comes up through the hole, out that little line and onto the chain tensioner. Perhaps I'll leave it the way it is then. |
