1997 e320 key won't turn srs light on
 

My 97' e320 was recently damaged by a hit and run. The fender and bumper were damaged and the inner and outer tie rod ends were broken. Tire and rim bent as well. I had my mechanic replace the tie rod ends. Now the car ignition key won't turn to crank the car and the srs light flashes. What could be causing this? When the car was hit I tried to crank the car and the key would not turn.
